Senior Transmission Line Engineer – PE

OpenMind Staffing is partnering with a growing engineering firm seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to support high-voltage transmission projects throughout the United States. The position offers flexible remote or hybrid options.

The Senior Transmission Line Engineer will lead the design and review of transmission lines ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV while coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining quality standards, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of overhead transmission lines from 69 kV through 500 kV

• Develop and review PLS-CADD models, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

• Ensure designs comply with project requirements and applicable industry standards

• Perform structure, foundation, clearance, and value-engineering analyses

• Coordinate with clients, utilities, contractors, vendors, and internal engineering disciplines

• Manage technical scope, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables

• Review and approve work completed by engineers and designers

• Mentor junior team members and support occasional project-site visits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

• Active Professional Engineer license in the United States

• 5+ years of transmission line engineering experience

• Proficiency with PLS-CADD

• Experience designing transmission lines between 69 kV and 500 kV

• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and other applicable standards

• Experience with transmission structure and foundation design

• Strong project leadership, organization, and communication skills

• PLS-TOWER, LPile, FAD Tools, or extra-high-voltage experience preferred
