Construction Manager – Solar EPC

OpenMind Staffing is partnering with a growing renewable-energy EPC contractor seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the field execution of community and utility-scale solar projects.

The Construction Manager will oversee projects from mobilization through commissioning and closeout, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, site personnel, safety, quality, schedule, and daily construction activities. This is a field-based position for someone who can take ownership of a job site and deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field execution from mobilization through mechanical completion, commissioning, and closeout

  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, superintendents, foremen, inspectors, and other site personnel

  • Oversee civil, mechanical, and electrical construction activities

  • Monitor grading, access roads, foundations, trenching, racking, module installation, fencing, restoration, and electrical installation

  • Maintain the project construction schedule and address delays, constraints, and sequencing issues

  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, equipment, materials, and workforce planning

  • Enforce project-specific health and safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture

  • Verify that construction complies with drawings, specifications, permits, quality standards, and contractual requirements

  • Conduct daily site meetings and coordinate upcoming work with subcontractors and internal project teams

  • Track field progress, manpower, quantities installed, inspections, punch-list items, and project documentation

  • Identify constructability issues and work with project management and engineering teams to develop solutions

  • Coordinate with utilities, inspectors, authorities having jurisdiction, landowners, and other project stakeholders

  • Support testing, commissioning, turnover documentation, and final project closeout

  • Provide regular updates on schedule, safety, quality, cost risks, and overall project status

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of construction or field-management experience

  • Solar EPC, community solar, utility-scale solar, energy storage, civil, or electrical construction experience strongly preferred

  • Experience supervising subcontractors and multiple construction scopes

  • Working knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical solar construction

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts

  • Strong understanding of construction safety, quality control, inspections, and documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, resolve field issues, and hold project partners accountable

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred

  • Willingness to travel extensively and remain assigned to project sites for extended periods
