Project Manager – Solar EPC

OpenMind Staffing is partnering with a growing renewable-energy EPC contractor seeking a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of solar and energy-storage projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.

This contractor-side position will manage project schedules, budgets, cash flow, subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and client relationships. The Project Manager will coordinate closely with preconstruction, engineering, procurement, field operations, safety, quality, and commissioning teams to deliver projects safely, profitably, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage solar and storage EPC projects from preconstruction and contract execution through commissioning and closeout

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, cash-flow projections, and progress reports

  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, safety, quality, and commissioning activities

  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and equipment suppliers

  • Support the negotiation, review, and execution of EPC contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders

  • Monitor project costs, commitments, billing, revenue, and margin performance

  • Identify schedule, budget, contractual, and construction risks and implement corrective actions

  • Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and decisions to clients and internal leadership

  • Coordinate material procurement and ensure equipment arrives in accordance with the construction schedule

  • Partner with field leadership to manage civil, mechanical, electrical, and site-restoration activities

  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, permits, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout materials

  • Travel regularly to active project sites

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of project-management experience in renewable energy, construction, utilities, or a related industry

  • Solar EPC or energy-storage construction experience strongly preferred

  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, cash flow, subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships

  • Familiarity with EPC contracts, construction plans, specifications, change orders, and project controls

  • Understanding of solar civil, mechanical, and electrical construction scopes

  • Strong financial, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline preferred

  • PMP certification is a plus

  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites
