Geotechnical Engineer – PE
OpenMind Staffing is partnering with a growing renewable-energy engineering firm seeking a licensed Geotechnical Engineer to support utility-scale wind and solar projects.
The Geotechnical Engineer will lead site investigations, geotechnical analysis, technical reporting, and project coordination while supporting projects from early development through construction.
Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical engineering work for utility-scale wind and solar projects
Plan and oversee subsurface investigations and laboratory-testing programs
Evaluate shallow and deep foundations, earthwork, dewatering, slope stability, and access roads
Prepare calculations, technical reports, design memoranda, and specifications
Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and proposal estimates
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Provide construction-phase support and resolve field-related technical issues
Mentor junior engineering staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer license
At least 3 years of geotechnical engineering experience
PE license or the ability to obtain one shortly after joining
Experience with subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, foundation analysis, and construction support
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, geology, and geotechnical design standards
Experience preparing technical reports and reviewing construction documents
Strong project-management, analytical, and communication skills
Renewable-energy, GRLWEAP, PDA, CAPWAP, or pile-testing experience preferred
