Civil Engineer – Renewable Energy

OpenMind Staffing is partnering with a growing engineering firm seeking a Civil Engineer to support utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects throughout the United States.

The Civil Engineer will support projects from early design through construction, with responsibility for site layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, access roads, and permitting. This position offers flexible remote or hybrid work options.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare civil designs for renewable-energy projects

  • Develop site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, access roads, and erosion-control plans

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses

  • Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and construction drawings

  • Support permitting and respond to agency comments

  • Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, electrical engineers, and project stakeholders

  • Review contractor submittals and provide construction-phase support

  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and technical deliverables

  • Conduct occasional site visits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • At least 3 years of civil design experience

  • Experience with land development, renewable energy, or other large infrastructure projects

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion-control design

  • Ability to read and prepare civil construction documents

  • Strong analytical, communication, and project-management skills

  • Engineer-in-Training certification required; Professional Engineer license preferred

  • Willingness to travel occasionally
